Uniper attaches importance to the protection of personal data and is committed to protecting the data of persons who visit our websites. Uniper SE, Holzstraße 6, 40221 Düsseldorf, Germany, processes personal data collected during visits to our websites in accordance with the data protection and data security laws of the Federal Republic of Germany and is the responsible party in this respect. This privacy policy provides you with information on how Uniper handles information collected during your visit to Uniper's website. This data protection declaration applies to all websites that refer to this data protection declaration, including https://decarbsolutions.uniper.energy (collectively referred to as "Uniper's websites" or "our websites").

1. collection and processing of personal data

Personal data is any information about your identity, such as your name, email address or postal address. Unless you have agreed otherwise with Uniper, Uniper will only collect simple personal data that is necessary for our business relationship, for example your name, job title, address, telephone number, email address and other contact details. Such data is only collected if you provide it to Uniper, e.g. if you order information material and use a contact form for this purpose or request this via e-mail, subscribe to an e-mail information service, apply for a job online via our applicant portal or participate in a survey or competition. Uniper only collects this data directly from you and not from other third parties. The legal basis for the processing in this respect is Article 6 (1) sentence 1 b) DS-GVO.

2. use and disclosure of personal data

Uniper uses your personal information to respond to your enquiry, process your order or provide you with access to specific information or offers that you have requested from us. For example, if you complete an online contact form, Uniper will use this information to contact you regarding your interest in the Services. The legal basis for the processing in this respect results from Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 b) DS-GVO. Uniper may also use personal data of its customers and data of participants for marketing purposes, provided that you have expressly consented to this pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 a) DS-GVO. In this case, Uniper will use the information you provide to contact you to discuss your interest in the services and to send you information about the company, its subsidiaries and partner companies - such as about promotions or events. For this purpose, it may also be necessary for Uniper to pass on your data to group companies or external service providers in the context of commissioned data processing. For example, it may be necessary for Uniper to pass on customer data for customer relationship management purposes. If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you may revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing granted on the basis of the consent. Uniper will not sell or otherwise market your personal data to third parties or pass it on for their advertising purposes. Insofar as you have expressly consented to this in accordance with Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 a) DS-GVO, Uniper will pass on your data to its subsidiaries and partner companies so that they can contact you directly. You have the right to revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of the processing until the revocation remains unaffected. Uniper will generally only process your data within the European Union. Data transfers to third countries will only occur in the context of the administration of IT systems in accordance with the provisions on commissioned processing and only to the extent that a) the transfer is generally permissible and b) the special requirements for a transfer to a third country are met, in particular the data importer ensures an adequate level of data protection in accordance with the EU standard contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data to processors in the context of commissioned processing in third countries.

3. duration of the storage

Uniper will only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to provide the services or information you have requested and for the duration of our business relationship. We will delete your data immediately insofar as it is no longer required for the aforementioned purposes.

5. notes on web analysis

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. However, this will only be done if and insofar as you have given your express consent to this pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 a) DS-GVO. If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing granted on the basis of the consent. The information generated by cookies about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. Google uses pseudonyms for this purpose. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google.

LinkedIn Insight Tag

Our website uses the conversion tool "LinkedIn Insight Tag" from LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company. This tool creates a cookie in your web browser, which enables the collection of the following data, among others: IP address, device and browser properties, and page events (e.g. page views). This data is encrypted, anonymized within seven days, and the anonymized data is deleted within 90 days. LinkedIn does not share any personal data with Uniper, but offers anonymized reports on website audience and display performance. In addition, LinkedIn offers the possibility of retargeting via the Insight Tag. Uniper can use this data to display targeted advertising outside of its website without identifying you as a website visitor. For more information on data protection at LinkedIn, please refer to the LinkedIn privacy notices. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes in their account settings. To deactivate the Insight tag on our website ("opt-out") click here.

Use of the IP address

Computers and devices connected to the Internet are assigned a unique number called an IP address. Since these numbers are usually assigned in country-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the country (state or city) where that computer connects to the internet. Google Analytics collects the IP addresses of website visitors. This allows the website owner to analyse which parts of the world their visitors come from. This method is called geotargeting of IP addresses. The actual IP address information is not shared with Google Analytics customers by Google Analytics. In addition, the IP mask method is used: Website owners using Google Analytics can set it to use only a portion of the IP address for geotargeting instead of the entire IP address. Website owners generally have access to the IP addresses of their website visitors, regardless of the use of Google Analytics.
